Drums Along the Hudson

It's a bit rainy out now but I'm hoping it won't put a damper on one of my favorite annual festivals Drums Along the Hudson.  Today Inwood Hill Park will be filled with lots of Native Dancing, Music, and Food!  These shots are from a few years ago when I first stumbled upon this wonderful festival.

It was made several years back but every time I run across it, it makes me smile.

Once Upon a Fair Maid-um . . .

well it's been 10 years today since this little bundle of rottenness entered the world.

Recently I came across this video of him in my archives.  It's raw footage from a video art project I was working on a while back.  The purpose was to obtain moving portraits of various individuals, that would be projected during a dance performance by Judith Sanchez Ruiz at The Baryshnikov Arts Center.  I would leave each subject alone with the camera rolling for approximately 10 minutes and the only instructions they were given was to simply sit there and just be, letting their mind go wherever their thoughts took took them. As you can tell Satto obviously needed a little more attention and direction.

Satto you have brought more joy and magic into my life than I could have ever imagined!
